Mr. Mirsad Ćeman, a Vice-President of the Constitutional Court of BiH, received today in an inaugural visit Mr. Hartmut Rank, the Director of the Rule of Law Programme South-East Europe of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation with its office in Bucharest. Since its foundation in 2005, the Rule of Law Programme South-East Europe has been focused on the following areas: constitutional law, protection of human and minority rights, fight against corruption, and European legal order. Director Rank presented the activities of the Foundation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and pointed out that a regular annual summer school on transitional justice, organised by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, had recently taken place in Sarajevo. In addition, Mr. Hartmut Rank highlighted that the Foundation would be ready to take part in future projects of the Constitutional Court of BiH as regards the protection and promotion of human rights. Vice-President Ćeman expressed his gratitude for the visit and reflected on a continued fruitful cooperation between the Foundation and the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and made several suggestions on forms of their future cooperation that the Foundation might take into consideration when planning a cooperation program for the next period.
The next meeting ought to be held in Sarajevo, in October 2018, with a view to continuing dialog and operationalising the issues that were discussed.
