His Excellency John Clint Williamson, Ambassador and Chairman of the Arbitration Tribunal for the Brčko Inter-Entity Boundary Line Dispute, and Louis J. Crishock, Principal Deputy High Representative for BiH and Supervisor for the Brčko District, visited the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina today.
In an open discussion with President Palavrić, Ambassador Williamson emphasized that due to the recent unacceptable attacks on the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina, he arrived in Bosnia and Herzegovina earlier than originally planned.
The conversation highlighted the mutual agreement on the necessity of a stable Brčko District, as well as the entire Bosnia and Herzegovina, as any instability in Brčko District impacts the entire country. On the other hand, any attack on the constitutional order of the State of Bosnia and Herzegovina affects the entire territory, including the Brčko District.
In addition, Ambassador Williamson expressed his deep concern that one part of BiH is challenging the Constitutional Court, as well as that certain authorities in the State do not implement the decisions of the Constitutional Court.
It was also noted that the failure of the RS National Assembly to fill the vacant positions of judges actually strengthens the need for international judges, as well as their role.
