The Constitutional Court of BiH, in cooperation with the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation – IRZ and with participation of the constitutional courts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia, Macedonia, Serbia and the European Court of Human Rights, is organising the Regional Conference „Decisions of the European Court of Human Rights and their Impact on the Standards of the National Constitutional Courts“.
The Conference shall be held on 8 April 2016 in Sarajevo in the hotel „Europe“ (atrium hall of the hotel), commencing at 10.00 hrs.
This kind of cooperation of the constitutional courts of the region (from the territory of the former SFRY) was initiated by the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2003. The initiative was accepted and now has become a tradition where the regional conference/round tables are being held continuously and organised each time by one of the constitutional courts participants.
The aim of this initiative is exchange of experiences, views and case-law on the application of law in terms of the rule of law, protection and protection of the human rights and fundamental freedoms as well as establishing a professional cooperation in regards to other issues of common interest and value for the constitutional courts of the countries in transition.
International multilateral and bilateral cooperation, international conferences, professional and scientific gatherings are opportunity and manner in which the constitutional courts are able to promote their doctrine, experience and case-law especially in the field of the rule of law, protection and promotion of human rights and fundamental freedoms. In this manner, the constitutional courts, as separate constitutional bodies, contribute to the civilizational and legal heritage being at the same time inspired by them. In this context, an emphasis has been made on the exchange of experiences, views and case-law on the application of the law as well as establishing the professional cooperation in regards to other issues of common interest and value for the constitutional courts in the region in which the constitutional judiciary shares common beginnings and foundations.
We take this opportunity to invite the media to report on the Conference and contribute to the promotion of the rule of law and thereby the promotion of the human rights as universal civilizational values.
