On 13 and 14 June 2023, the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina held the Conference „Enforcement of Decisions of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina”. The Constitutional Court organised the Conference with the assistance and support of the Office of European Union in Bosnia and Herzegovina and His Excellency, Ambassador Johann Sattler, Head of EU Delegation to Bosnia and Herzegovina and EU Special Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The President of the Constitutional Court Valerija Galić and Ambassador Johann Sattler opened the Conference.
The work of the Conference was carried out in three panels. The first Panel was „Enforcement of Decisions of the Constitutional Court arising under Abstract Jurisdiction” moderated by Mirsad Ćeman, Vice-President of the Constitutional Court. The second Panel was „Enforcement of Decisions of the Constitutional Court arising under Appellate Jurisdiction” moderated by Seada Palavrić, Judge of the Constitutional Court. The final, third Panel was „Acting upon decisions of the Constitutional Court and Rulings on Non-enforcement of the Constitutional Court” moderated by Valerija Galić, President of the Constitutional Court. Panellists and participants of the Conference were representatives of legislative, executive and judicial branch.
The aim of the Conference was to initiate a dialogue on this very significant topic. It was also an opportunity for all to stress what is relevant from their point of view, and what issues they have come across in this segment and most importantly to give potential solutions.
This Conference is first in a series of planned events on the topic of enforcement of decisions of the Constitutional Court. A follow up meeting on this topic is planned in the near future, again with the representatives of legislative, executive and judicial branch.
