Visit of the Students of the Centre for Constitutional Studies and Democratic Development in Bologna



The students of the Centre for Constitutional Studies and Democratic Development in Bologna visited the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina today as a part of their study visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Centre for Constitutional Studies and Democratic Development was founded by the Law Faculty of the University in Bologna and University Centre “Johns Hopkins” from Bologna – SAIS Europe. The CCSDD conducts research and training in the field of comparative constitutional law, focusing on countries undergoing a process of democratic transition.

At the request of the Centre for Constitutional Studies and Democratic Development in Bologna the visit was organized with the aim of informing the students, through discussion, about the jurisdiction, organization and work of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The students were addressed by the President of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Mirsad Ćeman. The President welcomed the student and wished them a pleasant stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In his address, the President Ćeman referred to the 50 years long tradition of the constitutional justice in Bosnia and Herzegovina and significance of the Constitutional Court in the legal system of Bosnia and Herzegovina and expressed hope that students will have an opportunity to refresh existing and gain new knowledge on constitutional position, organisation and functioning of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Head of the Constitutional Case-Law Section of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ms. Ermina Dumanjić, made a comprehensive presentation on the relevant facts on the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The presentation was followed by the discussion with the students from Bologna on the issues that caught their attention and interested them the most.
