The students of the Center for Constitutional Studies and Democratic Development in Bologna have paid a visit today to the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a part of the study visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Centre for Constitutional Studies has been founded by the Law Faculty of the University in Bologna and the Bologna Center of the Johns Hopkins University (Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS)) from Bologna. The center conducts a research and organizes training in the field of the comparative constitutional law with an emphasis on the countries which are undergoing process of a democratic transition.
Upon request of the Center for Constitutional Studies and Democratic Development in Bologna, the visit has been organized with a goal to introduce the students to the jurisdiction, organization and work of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
President of the Constitutional Court, Mirsad Ceman, addressed the students welcoming them and wishing them a pleasant stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Constitutional Court of Bosnian and Herzegovina. President Ceman referred to 50 years-long tradition of constitutional justice in Bosnia and Herzegovina and significance of the Constitutional Court in the legal system of BiH and expressed his hope that the students will refresh their existing and acquire a new knowledge on constitutional position, organization and functioning of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Senior Advisor to the Judge of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sevima Sali-Terzic, presented relevant facts on the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina in a comprehensive manner.
The presentation was followed by discussion with the students of the issues that attracted most attention and sparked interest of the students.
