President of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mirsad Ćeman, together with his associates, received today the delegation of the Monitoring Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, currently on an official to Bosnia and Herzegovina on 5 and 6 September 2017 aimed at fact-finding on meeting the post-accession obligations of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The working visit was paid by the members of the Monitoring Mission, Mr. Tiny Kox, rapporteur from Netherlands, member of the Party of European Left in the European Parliament, Ms. Caroline Ravaud, Head of the Monitoring Department, Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe and Ambassador Drahoslav Štefánek, Head of the Office of the Council of Europe in Sarajevo.
The topic of the discussion was functioning of the judicial institutions in the context of progress in meeting the post-accession conditions accepted by Bosnia and Herzegovina as an obligation when becoming a member state of the Council of Europe.
A particular attention was given to the issue of implementing court decisions in general, as well as decisions of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In that context the significance of implementing court decisions was emphasized as a very important instrument of human rights and fundamental freedoms protection.
