His Excellency Matthew Field, Ambassador of the United Kingdom of the Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Bosnia and Herzegovina paid a visit to the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina on 22 February 2022.
His Excellency Ambassador Field was received by President of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mato Tadić.
President Tadić informed Ambassador Field of the facts about the constitutional position, organization and functioning of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, appellate and abstract jurisdiction, as well as relevant statistics on the work of the Constitutional Court of BiH. They also discussed the place and role of the Constitutional Court of BiH in the constitutional law structure of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the importance of decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH in the legal system of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the importance of their implementation. An emphasis was placed on a very successful cooperation between the Constitutional Court and British Embassy. On that note, President Tadić used an opportunity personally to express gratitude to Ambassador Field for support of the British Embassy to the Constitutional Court in the implementation of projects aimed at strengthening the rule of law in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Ambassador Field extended his gratitude for the reception, exchange of opinion and information he received from President Tadić during the visit. He emphasized the importance of the role of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the legal system of Bosnia and Herzegovina, particularly in the segment of protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms and the rule of law. Ambassador Field also wished the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina a successful continuation of its work.
