Mr. Mirsad Ćeman, President of the Constitutional Court of BiH gave a lecture to the students at the Law of Faculty of the University of Sarajevo today.
As a part of completion of the “International and European Human Rights Law Clinic” Program of the Association (ELSA) and the Faculty of Law, Mr. Mirsad Ćeman, President of the Constitutional Court of BiH gave a lecture entitled “Challenges in Application of the Case-Law of the European Court of Human Rights – Is it time for the case-law to become a de iure source of law in BiH?”
The “International and European Human Rights Law Clinic” is a form of informal education organized by ELSA for the last two years. The “Clinic” gathers legal experts and academics who endeavour to get students familiar with the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and the Strasbourg case-law by giving lectures. The “Clinic” is a result of lack of formal education in the curriculum of the Faculty of Law of Sarajevo and wish to improve competitiveness of the future lawyers on the labour market. The main goal of the Programme is to educate future lawyers so that they are able to use the mechanisms for the protection of human rights of citizens of BiH. 30 students attended the “Clinic” this year.
