Rules of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina regulate the manner of public character of the work of the Constitutional Court which is made possible, inter alia, through informing the public of the preparations and holding of the sessions of the Constitutional Court and providing notifications as to the course of the proceedings before the Constitutional Court.
Due to an increased interest of the media and the wider general public in Bosnia and Herzegovina in regards to the Decision of the Constitutional Court of BiH adopted in November 2015 which established the unconstitutionality of the provisions of the Law on Holidays of the Republika Srpska RS on 9 January as the Day of the Republika Srpska, and request of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska for its review as well in regards to several other requests for resolution of “constitutional dispute” between BiH and Entity of RS submitted recently to the Constitutional Court of BiH, the President of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mirsad Ceman, has explained, within the past period, the procedural aspects and the proceedings in regards to the above-referenced constitutional law issues to a greater number of interested media (inter alia, whether, when and what kind of agenda will the Constitutional Court examine at some session).
Having in mind that the following plenary session of the Constitutional Court is scheduled for 17 September 2016 and that the proposal of the Agenda, to a certain extent, includes these issues thus giving to the public sufficient information as to the course of the proceedings until the date of scheduling the session, the Constitutional Court hereby informs the public that there will be no information given in regards to these issues until further notice.
Pursuant to the Rules of the Constitutional Court the public will be informed on the decisions of the Constitutional Court to be adopted on these and other constitutional law issues it has examined, in a timely fashion.
