At the invitation of the President of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation and Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation, President of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina Zlatko M. Knežević is attending the International Conference on the topic “Constitutional Identity and Universal Values: the Art of Balance“ marking the beginning of work of the IX International Legal Forum being held from 14 to 18 May 2019 in Saint-Petersburg/Russian Federation. The topic of the Conference reflects the general concept of the Legal Forum „Law as the Art“.
The Conference consists of three sessions examining different aspects of the topic of the Conference. Each session begins with a key report followed by the discussion. The topic of the first session is „The Search for Balance between National and Universal Values: Methodological Aspects“. The topic of the second session is „Judiciary and Modern Populism: Challenges and Prospects“. President Knežević will open the third session of the Conference on the topic „National Consent as a Key Element of Constitutional Identity“ and present his paper on that particular topic.
While attending the International Conference and IX International Legal Forum in Saint-Petersburg, President Knežević will meet with a number of presidents and judges of the constitutional and other courts and legal experts attending these events.
